Monel 400 has the following characteristics:

Corrosion resistance of Monel 400:
Monel400 alloys have excellent corrosion resistance in fluorine gas, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and their derivatives.At the same time, it is more corrosion resistance than copper-based alloy in seawater.Acid medium: Monel400 is corrosion-resistant in sulfuric acid with a concentration of less than 85%.Monel400 is one of the few important materials that can withstand hydrofluoric acid.Water corrosion: Monel400 alloy In most cases of water corrosion, not only excellent corrosion resistance, and pitting corrosion, stress corrosion and so also rarely found, corrosion speed is less than 0.025mm/a.High temperature corrosion: Monel400 In the air continuous operation of the highest temperature is generally around 600 ℃, in high-temperature steam, corrosion rate is less than 0.026mm/a.Ammonia: Due to the high nickel content of Monel400 alloy, it can withstand the corrosion under the condition of anhydrous ammonia and amination under 585 ℃.
Monel 400 Process performance and requirements:
Thermal processing
The annealing temperature should be controlled at 700-900 ℃ and recommended for fast air cooling for optimal corrosion resistance.The time and temperature will directly affect the final grain size and the annealing parameters must be carefully developed.
Cold processing
The cold process should be annealed in the middle.High processing hardening rate
Cold forming deformation is higher than 5% and must be used after stress or annealing
Monel400 Welding Process
Argon arc welding, plasma arc, gas shielded welding or hand arc welding methods can be used for welding, first impulse arc welding, the best surface treatment after welding.
